Review: Onell Design Glyan Glyorian

One of the fun things about Onell Design's Glyos toys is how it pays tribute to its inspirations - and that which followed it. The Glyan Glyorian winks at the offspring of one of its inspirations, slathering it in paint and ensuring that you're in on the joke. This figure takes the basic bones of an indie figure from over 10 years ago, adds a cape and some paint, throws in a few extra parts and pieces, and voila - a tribute to the most popular sci-fi figure of 2019 and 2020... and probably also 2021.

Knighty-Glyknight Glyos Figure Preview

http://onelldesign.blogspot.com/2017/06/order-of-glyknights.html
The always affable and persistently punctual Onell Design posted a preview called Order of the Glyknights showing off three new figures - with capes - in a stunning diorama setting.  According to previous comments from Matt Doughty, we should expect the capes to be included and these are just some of the nifty new things going up Thursday night.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Glyninja Runmaru

Onell Design Glyos Glyninja Runmaru Action FigureStanding at about 3-inches tall, the Glyninja Runmaru is another nifty tribute to days gone by. And sometimes I'm worried I get it wrong, but the colors are just so gosh darned close to Tecmo's NES classic Ninja Gaiden's cut scenes. Instead of bare shoulders, he has short sleeves with some pretty decent exposed "flesh" and the newish head does a good job of giving you a new figure on an aging body.

Speaking of glowing figures, Onell Design has AASC GITD on tap for Wednesday at 9:30 PM Eastern.  That's "Axis Armored Spectre Commandos" in glow in the dark plastic, and while no specific drop menu has been given there are expectations of at least one new head - and possibly other surprises - in the water.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Standard Ecroyex Glyan Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Standard Ecroyex Glyan Action FigureFor a while I made it a point to buy one of every figure with a Glyaxia symbol, like good old Standard Ecroyex Glyan here. And then we had drops that would cost a couple of hundred bucks to assemble, at which point I thought "Well, that was fun." There are still plenty of great figures with awesome design flourishes, and the little quasi-Atari faction symbol on his shoulder really is quite cool. While nobody probably needs every last flavor of this one, I will say I'm glad I bought it - even if I sat on it for about a year before opening him.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Glyan Glyaxia Standard Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Glyan Glyaxia Standard Action FigureThe Glyan Glyaxia Standard is similar to the Glyaxia Command Elite version from 2011, but different enough so that the untrained eye can easily tell the difference. The yellow seems a tiny bit oranger, while the blue seems quite similar but just a smidgen brighter.

Onell Design Glyos Glyan Glyaxia Standard Action FigureIn the last three years, a lot has changed in the Glyos world overall - new lines brought in a few more players, and actual licensed properties now exist within its galaxies. Edition sizes haven't climbed much, but a few newcomers give Onell Design a reason to go back to the well on some styles. This one in particular was one of my favorites during the first go-round, so having another shot at it was certainly nice. One of the most obvious changes over the last few years was the increase of pricing on most toys manufactured in China, leading to companies changing how they do business.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Neo Sincroid Gendrone Legion Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Neo Sincroid Gendrone Legion Action FigureIf you love metallic blue, the Neo Sincroid Gendrone Legion is worth tracking down. Onell Design has been high on the blue as of late, and what better figure for today than a blue figure with some white and red? The little guy is pretty much what you're used to, except the marketing is a little different - generally this mold is sold as a Glyan, and as a Neo Sincroid he dons the silver-faced head with red eyes by default. Despite being a mechanoid of some sort, this actually makes him look more human. Or at the very least, Tin Man-esque.

And here it is! Click here to see the December 2 2013 Onell Design drop menu.  The Ecroyex Initiative!

No new molds today, but there's a swell Syclodoc that sold out pretty much immediately.  The surprises were a pair of orange figures - Noboto and Crayboth - and a generally swell selection of parts and pieces, including another fine Sarvos.

There are more indie releases coming - the Four Horsemen will have new Power Soliders on December 2, and more Mordles are expected as well.  Stay tuned!

Ecroyex Drop Glyos Details Revealed

http://onelldesign.blogspot.com/2013/11/mission-details.html
A positively preposterously gorgeous drop is on deck for this weekend!   Onell Design posted the latest Mission Details, with the Ecroyex Commander Cynorico Sarvos (pictured) being one of several stunning new releases on deck.

An equally beautiful Syclodoc will be joining more Crayboth, an Armorvor, and pretty much all of the major molds that aren't vinyl.  It's going to be an expensive release, but at least it's some of the most gorgeous stuff you've ever dropped a few sawbucks on, right?

An as-of-yet unknown $8 mystery figure is also up for grabs on Sunday, December 1, at 9:30 PM EST.

New Glyos Release February 1 - Mission: Irresistable!

The Glyos Transmissions Web Log has added a post called "Mission Details!" which outlines this Friday's batch of Adventure People-inspired figures called "Operation: Sonesidar."

If you get one of everything announced, you're looking at about $158 prior to shipping.  (We have no knowledge of surprise items and the word "surprise" wasn't used in the post, either.)

Orange, white, and grey are the main colors this time and the Mini Blocker Rig build debuts as a buyable product at this drop.  Also notable is the return of Exellis in grey with a scarf, as this is the first use of the mold for nearly half of a year.

Click here to see the drop details as they are now - an as-of-yet-unrevealed redeco of the awesome Syclodoc (a review of which is queued up) is set to be revealed later in the week.

Onell Design Teases Next Week's Glyos Drop

While there has been speculation we might see a new mold before the year is up - which hasn't been confirmed nor denied that I saw, but Matt has said that there's a red Armodoc with something different beyond color! Hmmm!  Well, I'm excited.

Metallic blue figures like Pheyden with a scarf, new Buildmen, and a stunning metallic blue Gobon are previews for the November 30 drop.  Click here to read all the details so far, more are coming!

Glyos Onell Design September 5 2012 Drop Menu

As always, the Glyos September 5, 2012 Hades Drop Menu is that big strip of images on the left.  You can see a lot of stuff sold out really, really fast.   If nothing else, it's a good sign that despite being a small company, Onell Design really knows how to market its stuff to potential buyers.

19 new products were added in the top half of the store, and within an hour the Onell Design store was down to 11.  The Armorvors and Hades Pheyden went quickly, as did the other Pheyden figures, which probably lead fans to speculate that either Onell Design was caught unawares of the popularity of the figures, or rampant speculation of speculators, or you can just blame The God Beast for making too many good Glyos heads and people are itching for a supply of Armorvor bodies.   (Hey, I'd have ordered more than 3 if there wasn't a limit.  Have you seen those heads up close?  They're awesome.)

Anyway, take a look at a menu to see what you missed!
