Review: Onell Design Glyos Neo Granthan Vrylless Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Neo Granthan Vrylless Action FigureWhile the name (and an unhelmeted hand-molded head) existed for a while, the mass-produced mold is new here! One of three releases, the Neo Granthan Vrylless marks the replacement of the wolf headed Armorvor in favor of a dinosaur-headed Granthan. Two other figures hit at the same time, each of which use the classic Armorvor body with a new head. The wolf helmet head is still here, and you get 18 total parts as always.

New Power Lords February 20, Fan Club Updates, Kickstarter

http://www.powerlordsreturn.com/?p=2593
Now here's some news! The Four Horsemen posted this to PowerLordsReturn.com:

1. The long-awaited green Power Soldier and Lord Power are due for Fan Club members on February 20 for $10 each. Non-members get a shot on February 22.

2. The existing Fan Club membership is being held over - so if you're a member, it counts for this new drop.

3. Future figures will be financed by Kickstarter.  No dates are known as of yet, but with the Mythic Legions (now non-Glyos) coming up first it might be a while.

Mythic Legions: Now 6-inch, No Glyos Compatibility

http://www.sourcehorsemen.com/?p=2255

And with that, this is our final Mythic Legions post.  The Four Horsemen line was announced a year ago in New York during Toy Fair, and the post MYTHIC LEGIONS SCALE ANNOUNCEMENT! confirms that the original Glyos compatibility announcement is no more.  Citing increasing prices - 4-inch and 6-inch figures now cost about the same, give or take a couple of bucks, as we've seen with Hasbro - they opted to just go for the bigger figures.  This should be a better product for the money, but as it means it's no longer Glyos I'll no longer be covering them on this specific blog.

Not much new has been said regarding Power Lords, but this does make it seem like if and when new figures do appear they're going to be more expensive than the last batch.  Such is the world of China manufacturing these days.

Review: Plastic Imagination Rise of the Beasts Bal Kharn - Green Rhino with Grey Paint

Plastic Imagination Rise of the Beasts Bal Kharn - Green Rhino with Grey Paint Action FiguresHe's different! Or at least, mine is. I was lucky to get an early sample of Rise of the Beasts Bal Kharn - Green Rhino with Grey Paint is pretty fantastic. If you bought the first version, this is basically an improvement in terms of color - the quality of that painted black plastic release is impossible to match, but this one is still quite good.

Club Zeton - The Robo Force Fan Club

http://toyfinity.blogspot.com/2015/01/so-club-zeton.html
UPDATE: Live now! Click here to sign up.

If you love Robo Force, you need to go read up on Club Zeton.  This is the new Robo Force Fan Club from Toyfinity.

There's a big post about it, but here are the notes:
- It's $75.00
- 100 subscribers are needed to make it happen
- You get at least 2 exclusive figures for that $75
- You get first crack at all figures, plus the option to get your Ultimate Editions with (or without) detail lines as an exclusive club perk
- Also upgrade stickers, membership cards, discounts on unpainted figures, and other stuff

It comes with a ton of stuff which for $75 seems to be about right.  Test shots of new figures tend to go for a lot more, so go give it a look!

It's live!  The Little Rubber Guys store has a new drop of 4 Rise of the Beasts figures!

Unpainted figures are $4.00, painted (pictured) are $7.00.  The drop is earlier than planned, as I managed to request/beg for early samples and let me tell you - they're great.  You'll see a review here next week but if you can't wait, go ahead and grab some painted guys while you can.   They're pretty fantastic!

Knights of the Slice - Toy Pizza Glyos Action Figures?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/928363891/pizza-quest-knights-of-the-slice/posts/1118701
Toy Pizza is an online show hosted by some of the biggest toy fans including your pal and mine Jesse DeStasio, formerly of all kinds of good things. They have a great Tumblr and apparently that isn't enough - because they're doing a toy line on Kickstarter!

Multiple figures are being planned with plenty of stretch goals, but a note came up that may interest you guys - they may be be Glyos compatible.

$20 is the lowest pledge to get the figure (left) and other colors of this pizza Power Rangers-y line can be had, as can accessory packs and other goodies.  The Glyos part doesn't seem finalized by the posts I'm reading, but if nothing else these are neat figures from nice guys that you'll probably want to see anyway.  Because really, how many pizza-based action heroes do you own anyway?

Review: Maxx Zero Basic Edition from Robo Force

ToyFinity Robo Force Basic Edition Action FigureThe Maxx Zero Basic Edition is the Robo Force figure I had pictured when I first heard that this license got picked up. Now that the figure has decorated eyes an a colorful chest panel, he really comes to life - but he also has black tube arms, painted tire treads, and a few blue highlights. It's not as much paint as the Ultimate Edition at twice the price, but that's OK - I wanted to not spend twice the price and I'm happy with this tubby little guy. The 3-inch action figure is solid, heavy, and ultimately satisfying in a way that may hurt sales of future products - it's hard to imagine a better take on this mold. I'm sure they'll manage, but it's so impressive that I totally dig it.
