Review: The Outer Space Men, LLC Outer Space Men Bluestar Cyclops Action Figure

I bought a lot of figures I was missing a couple of years ago and have been slowly opening them. I assume it's unlikely we'll get many more of these guys, so Bluestar Cyclops is something to be savored... and also taken for granted. There are just so many of them that it was hard to really take them all in, even though they're amazing little things on their own. The entire Bluestar series is 19 figures so far, most of which were at least $20 initially. It adds up, and may be the biggest collection of blue glow-in-the-dark action figures you can buy. Review: Onell Design Glyos Infinite Anti-Pheyden Phrangoss

I missed out on the clear pink guy - all I got were legs so far - but I did get Infinite Anti-Pheyden Phrangoss. It's really nice. Sarvos was $18, Pheyden was $20, and Phrangoss was $22 - each figure has escalating paint applications. It's also worth noting each figure has unique paint masks with some shared elements. Silver Sarvos has the fewest, with all-red eyes and some other red markings. Blue Pheyden has more, with painted soles, fingers, thighs, belt, chest, and other odds and ends. Purplish Anti-Pheyden Phrangoss adds pink shoulders and knees (but not the same spots as Sarvos) as well as boot jets and lights on his back, just to name a few. Assuming Onell Design is marking these up at a consistent rate, it's really interesting to see what two dollars worth of paint and labor gets you. Does it look better? No question. Is it worth the extra cash? I'd say so.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Infinite Sarvos Buildborn

Sharing all the same parts as his two wave mates, Infinite Sarvos Buildborn is the silver redeco that matches surprisingly well with over a decade's worth of other silver guys. If you collect Glyos, a big part of the appeal is the scale and the compatibility. Well, we've lost a little scale in recent years, but you can easily swap parts between figures of all sizes and wind up with some wild results. Moreso if you like to paint. Sarvos has been around in some form or another as a mass produced figure since 2008, usually but not always with a torso distinct from Pheyden and often sharing the same limbs. This Infinite version shares everything with him - but you've got option pieces to make him distinctive. The "official build" from the product shot uses the Sarvos head while making use of the belt and swapping out the left hand for the phase cannon.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Infinite Pheyden Standard

 I've cut back slightly on some toy purchases but couldn't say no to the Infinite Pheyden Standard. For years there's been buzz of the Four Horsemen doing some Pheyden sculpting in the background, and with the Infinite Legions Pheyden and Phanost that I can regret not pre-ordering, they did work on these simpler, smaller guys based on the same basic concept. Fancy armor Pheyden with longer limbs and a smaller head just plain works, and comparing the two figures they're very similar in terms of what goes where. The Four Horsemen version has intense articulation and paint, with all sorts of painted details. Onell Design made a figure that's more pragmatic, with coloring no doubt influenced by the current international manufacturing situation. It's not unlike what we see out of the major franchise brands - different interpretations for different price points for different audiences. This is the entry-level limited edition indie figure. Glyos Onell Design November 8, 2025 Drop Menu

Two drops in under a month? What is this, 2017?  Onell Design is at LegionsCon, but somehow still had a drop anyway.  Wave 110 doesn't have a specific name as far as I can tell... but it does have two of the really cool new Infinite bodies. And an old-school Pheyden.  Also an Armorvor, some Axis Joints, and a nifty silver build made out of ToyFinity Zeroid bits.  It's a good one, and as of my writing this nothing has sold out in the first half hour.  You should get one of the Anti-Pheyden figures, particularly if you missed the last ones.

As far as I know the two Anti-Pheyden figures were sold today at LegionsCon. I haven't seen pictures yet showing if the other guys were there.

Infinite Phanost Does Not Exist (Yet?)

 It's LegionsCon weekend, and I'm across the country.  I'm still opening my treasure trove of new Glyos arrivals, including the Infinite Anti-Pheyden Phrangoss from a couple of weeks back.  The coloring isn't precisely the same as Infinite Legions Phanost, an upcoming larger-scale super-articulated Four Horsemen release - but it's close.  So I pulled out an old Moderius clear pink Phanost noggin to see how it would look.

I think you would agree, it looks great.  Not that the normal head doesn't look great - the bony head looks a lot like a Four Horsemen mascot redesign, and the trio looks superb.  Don't forget two new flavors of this mold go up at Onell Design at 9:30 PM EST Saturday night!

 

Another Onell Design Drop: Wave 110 Saturday Night (and/or LegionsCon)

We just got the first three guys last week, and two more are coming!  The black-suited Anti-Pheyden is coming along with a second recolor... and goodness knows what else.  With Moderius Pink and Xenoglow colors revealed from other makers, it seems like those could be nearby.  Here's hoping we see more real soon!  Click here for the blog post at Onell Design.

Pheyden Infinite Standard Comparison Shots

 Onell Design's most recent drop is showing up in mailboxes, and mine got here earlier today.  If you want to see some size comparisons against other similarly sized Glyos and retro figures, here are a few quick shots.  

Sadly the first three editions of the figure are sold out, but if there's a re-rerun or a recolor down the road?  You should get one. 

 

This last shot features the new Pheyden with two classics. These particular fellows are the Pheyden Regeneration (left) and Pheyden Prime (right, with vest and hand) releases from a few years ago.  It's an incredibly close match, not too far from the very first hard plastic 2007 figure but not quite the same as some middle-era releases.  Have a look!

A new collab between old friends leads this drop with a bigger, fancy Infinite Pheyden! The Four Horsemen sculpt is a bigger, beefier guy but not as expensive as the Cosmic Legions version.

The Four Horsemen Bring Pheyden, Phanost to their Legions

 Over at Store Horsemen, pay-in-full pre-orders are up for the 2026 Infinite Legions Pheyden and Phanost figures.  They're $85 for the set, or $45 each - also there are pins.

I haven't bought many of their newer figures, but I'm told it's basically the greatest thing going for indie figures in terms of customization and the fan community.   I bought a bunch of figures from their earlier lines like Seventh Kingdom and Gothitropolis, and they're really impressive.   

These Glyos characters are about 7-inches tall and each has multiple alternate heads, hands, and accessories.  A hologram part has a Glyos peg to pop on a communicator, or use as a head with your standard Glyos figure.  

Pre-orders are live through June 22.

PSA: Pick Up Your Old Glyos Figures

 If you have a lot of old Glyos figures - specifically, some of the softer ones that came out in or around 2010 - you might want to go pick them up.  I noticed some of my Alpha Phase 2010 The Outer Space Men and some Onell Design figures, like Comrado Sarvos here, were the tiniest bit sticky - presumably from plasticizers or mold release oils or other materials over time.  You may find this to be a good time to wipe them down with a damp cloth if yours are, too.

I keep my figures in a dark, dry, cool closet so I was a little surprised - but I also remember some of my old 1980s Kenner Star Wars figures aging similarly around 2002.   They're mostly all fine now if I wiped them down back then, so in between unboxing your  new drops, be sure to see how your old figures are doing.  They may be fine, but sometimes old figures need a bit of a cleaning.

Also, the pink on mine seems a little paler - I'm not sure if it's the photo, or time passing, so take a look at yours and let me know how it looks.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men Beta Phase Ohpromatem Action Figure

It's easy to forget, but from 2010 to 2013 each and every San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con had at least three exclusive The Outer Space Men action figures. Now you might see some at a New York show here and there, but the sets you could set your watch to are long gone. One of the last sets to be sold at New York Comic Con included a White Star Ohpromatem, at least sixteen convention exclusives in 2013 - easily one of the most prolific years the line had ever had for this kind of thing. The figure shares tooling with Terra Firma and Horrorscope, plus a few of Metamorpho's parts for good measure. It's a nifty figure, combining the cartoon proportions of Playboy's comic panels with nightmares from outer space. It's also largely unpainted.

Review: Four Horsemen Outer Space Men White Star Commander Comet Action Figure

Believe it or not, I expected the look at White Star Commander Comet to be the obituary for this line - maybe I've said that before a few times. By the end of 2013 and 2014, fan sentiment toward the Four Horsemen's two Glyos properties seemed to straddle the fence between adoration and loathing. On one hand, Power Lords and The Outer Space Men were amazingly well-crafted indie toys using familiar licenses to make something for the discriminating action figure fan. On the other, to recoup the tooling investment fans were effectively used to subsidize the tooling with varied, dull unpainted figures like this one. Effectively a blank that didn't have the good sense to actually be unpainted, this figure was part of a set that actually cost more than the fully-painted figures while delivering less. Even more unfortunate, the set continued - 14 of the (so far) 17 unique characters were done up in bare white plastic. And, if you can believe it, the set is going to be finished up very very soon, and at least those three have more interesting designs that make more of the whole White Star motif.

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Ggrapptikk Grunt Action Figure

Since this line more or less ended in 2014 (minus a couple of recolors), I wasn't sure if or when I'd get to the Ggrapptikk Grunt. Truth be told, I was kind of hoping the line would just die and I assume that it did. We see occasional updates from the Four Horsemen in forums or elsewhere saying that it isn't, but we haven't seen a new body type debut as a production toy since the first figures hit in 2013. This was a line with a lot of promise and fanfare, debuting near the end of the less ambitious Outer Space Men figures which, I still can't believe it, actually completed the original characters from 50 years ago. Plus the prototype second series. Plus a smattering of new characters. Power Lords updated 2 of the original figures, with numerous recolors and precolors of those molds basically grinding down any goodwill in the line's run. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy a Sydot if we ever got one, but I've got eight flavors of these 4-armed buggers and truth be told I'd have been happy with just one.

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Ggrabbtargg Action Figure

In the world of collectible toys, momentum and an engaged fanbase are valuable assets. Power Lords debuted to much fanfare and tremendous goodwill, and then had neither. Ggrabbtargg was a good example of how the Horsemen put together a good idea on a good license, but through the magic of time and waiting people may have just moved on. The item sold quickly thanks to its low production run, but the low going rate on eBay says it all - people don't have a lot of hope for this line which, after nearly two years, has yielded exactly two figures (with some repaints and remolded parts). Expectations were high, as the Horsemen delivered a pretty rapid clip of Outer Space Men to the tune of four per year for the first two years. Even a high-quality trickle of repaints is still a trickle of repaints, while the loyalists wait to see what (if anything) happens with this once and possibly future Glyos-compatible line some of us just kind of shrugged and went back to our consistent favorites.

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Slate Zone Power Soldier Action Figure

Cast in grey plastic, the Slate Zone Power Soldier is - as are his siblings - a wonderfully engineered figure. The Glyos system was adapted to a so-called "Glybrid" joint system in which we got the functionality of Glyos and Hasbro's ball joints in a 3 3/4-inch humanoid figure. So no matter what, this is a good figure with a great range of motion. When placed in context of its line, it becomes a bit of a bore being one of only two body types during the line's first year and a half, give or take. Endless repaints are a bitter pill to swallow, with other Glyos-compatible lines usually cranking out an all-new figure ever year or so with more customization options. It seems almost unfair to judge this figure for things outside its control, because the plastic person presently performs pretty admirably.

New Power Lords February 20, Fan Club Updates, Kickstarter

Now here's some news! The Four Horsemen posted this to PowerLordsReturn.com:

1. The long-awaited green Power Soldier and Lord Power are due for Fan Club members on February 20 for $10 each. Non-members get a shot on February 22.

2. The existing Fan Club membership is being held over - so if you're a member, it counts for this new drop.

3. Future figures will be financed by Kickstarter.  No dates are known as of yet, but with the Mythic Legions (now non-Glyos) coming up first it might be a while.

Mythic Legions: Now 6-inch, No Glyos Compatibility

And with that, this is our final Mythic Legions post.  The Four Horsemen line was announced a year ago in New York during Toy Fair, and the post MYTHIC LEGIONS SCALE ANNOUNCEMENT! confirms that the original Glyos compatibility announcement is no more.  Citing increasing prices - 4-inch and 6-inch figures now cost about the same, give or take a couple of bucks, as we've seen with Hasbro - they opted to just go for the bigger figures.  This should be a better product for the money, but as it means it's no longer Glyos I'll no longer be covering them on this specific blog.

Not much new has been said regarding Power Lords, but this does make it seem like if and when new figures do appear they're going to be more expensive than the last batch.  Such is the world of China manufacturing these days.
