A Jurassic Vehicle for Infinite Pheyden and Friends

While not explicitly Glyos-specific, while on my break, I did get a new toy I needed to share with you all.  Target has a Jurassic World Reimagined All-Terrain Capture Pack, and it has this weird sci-fi armored not-a-Warthog in it.  It's actually pretty incredible - the interior has been compatible with every figure I've thrown at it so far, including the very bulky Infinite Pheyden/Anti-Pheyden.  Take a look!

Review: Mordles Standard Edition (Yellow) Mini-Figures

ToyFinity Mordles Standard Edition (Yellow) Mini-FiguresMeet your new favorite toy of the week! If you aren't a member of Club Mordle, the Mordles Standard Edition (Yellow) Mini-Figures go on sale Friday. The idea here is that these are newly-made figures based on the food for Rocks & Bugs & Things toys, which are pretty uncommon as toys go and the little figures are frequently missing. They're nifty 1980s-style figures and the price-per-figure is quite good. And this set even has an egg with it, and I can tell you that all 20 launch Mordles fit in it just fine for easy storage. Oh, and they have names!

As the other half of the launch products from ToyFinity, a new toy company run by a few fans and collectors you might have met, they join their blue siblings as a collectible mini figure, or as replacements for your Rocks & Bugs & Things toys. (Me, I've been trying to chase down a decent Rock or Bug for a good price since like February.)

Review: ToyFinity Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-Figures

ToyFinity Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-Figures
Enthusiasm is infectious. I knew very little about Mordles from Rocks and Bugs and Things before corresponding with its current home under ToyFinity, with fan John Kent getting his claws in Ideal's 1985 toy line. Let me tell you, it's impossible to talk to this guy without his excitement rubbing off on anyone within earshot. In the new line, Mordles are the star attraction rather than as the victims of larger transforming carnivorous rocks and bugs. On their own, they're surprisingly fun! I never had a chance to play with them until these samples showed up last week, and I'm digging them.

ToyFinity Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-FiguresThe first batch has yellow with blue paint and blue with yellow paint. For the sake of this review, we're looking at the Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-Figures and we'll take an extended look at yellow in a week or two. They look like angry or possibly depressed little buggers and are scaled perfectly to menace Glyos figures like Callgrim or The Outer Space Men and like those lines. When you get one in your hands, the clean little guys have zero copyright markings, dates, or other identifying characteristics - with Mordles, you know them or you don't. Each one measures just under an inch high to just under 1.125-inches high and has no articulation, but it's not like they'd really benefit from articulation at this size. They stand perfectly and balance really, really well.

Plays With Others: Imaginext Space Station with Glyos Gallery

Since there are no Glyos playsets, I bought a Fisher-Price Imaginext Space Station Toy Set on sale a few weeks ago to see if it indeed would do the trick. While not perfect, it's a close fit and certainly shows how the line may be close enough to work with your Onell Design action figures.

Anyway, read all about it on 16bit.com's Figure of the Day!

Plays With Others: New Jedi Force Landspeeder-- Gendrone Friendly

As you read this, Hasbro is currently shipping its Playskool Heroes line to stores. This line is similar to the Fisher-Price Imaginext toys, with articulated limbs and-- you guessed it-- vehicles.

Pictured is the new Landspeeder which includes Luke Skywalker and has a pull-back motor. As you can see, it's scaled perfectly for Onell Glyos figures, but may be a smidgen small for your Outer Space Men. (If you remove their feet, the OSM will fit.)

A number of vehicles are coming out in this line based on the Marvel, Transformers, and Star Wars licenses but not all are a perfect fit for Glyos. For example, the Freeco Bike and BARC Speeder Bike cannot easily accommodate your average Glyos-compatible figure without removing chunks of it-- the hands also cannot grip the controls on the vehicles. But the Landspeeder? It's just perfect.

The line is part of the new reset going on at toy stores now, I've seen bits and pieces of it for sale online and at a few mass marketers. You can see more of it in my Toy Fair 2011 Coverage at 16bit.com.
