Preview & Quick Impressions: Spy Monkey Creations Armory Series 1

This is not the review-- that comes next week. Spy Monkey Creations will be releasing Spy Monkey Armory Series 1 next week, which is basically to weapons what Xevoz was to action figures. The sturdy-enough-for-collectors weapon set includes parts to make roughly 5 weapons which can split apart at several places through the increasingly popular (and soon to be ubiquitous) Glyos plugs. Pictures to the left is a Glyan trying to hold on to the Master Blade and a War Shield, both from the Doppelganger version of the weapons. They're cast in 5 different color schemes.

A full review is coming next week, but I was so taken with the set I had to share early. Check out Xevoz Storm Wing holding the same weapons-- for any large-ish (let's say 5-inches or taller) figure line, these weapons are just the right size. They're seemingly crafted for the likes of Masters of the Universe Classics, but there are lots of unique pegs and pieces that should be specific to Glyos customizers.

In short: these go on sale next week, and for $20 I believe you'll get your money's worth... if you have a lot of action figures. If you only collect Glyos and Outer Space Men, these will be fun, but not fantastic. If you also collect other figure lines, you're in for a treat. Anyway, come back next week for more.

Block Drop Screen Grabs: In Case You Missed It

PhotobucketI missed the drop by a couple of hours, and I missed nearly EVERYTHING new in this round of Glyos figures. Basically, there wasn't anything left to order other than Glyans. So what's a toy blogger to do, other than complain? My pal Seth put together some screen shots and now you can see them. So if you missed the Rig Runner, the Block, and the surprise Black Crayboth, you can see them all now. Happy drooling1

Armorvor Infected by TGB Customs

Your pal and mine, THEGODBEAST has posted pics of his latest Armorvor, this time an insect-inspired creation. Take a look at it and his other figures so you can feel shame for your relative lack of talent! I sure do.

Review: Callgrim Grim Squad Armodoc Action Figure

The Callgrim Grim Squad Armodoc comes out of the nifty collaboration between Onell Design and, well, everybody they touch-- specifically RawShark Studios in this case. This beefy vinyl figure is made of 11 pieces, and while this one is blue and white, the other is white and blue. It's a redeco of the original Armodoc sold through Onell Design and, for some reason, this sat around a bit. I have no idea why-- the paint job is fantastic, the price is decent, and it's the same quality of goods as an Onell Armodoc.

Onell Design to bring Glyan Vehicles to Glyos

The Onell Design Blog has a post called Runners and Hoppers, which, uh, introduces you to new vehicles called Runners and Hoppers.

While similar to the WARP Bikes from Callgrim at first glance, these appear to be very different vehicles-- so do check them out! No word on a specific date or price just yet, but they sure as heck do look neat!

Review: Onell Design Glyos Glyaxia Command Elite Glyan Action Figure

An early release of the Glyaxia Command Elite Glyan Action Figure (and most of the October 2011 drop) was sold at New York Comic Con 2011, and that's where I got mine. The yellow and blue design used on Pheyden and other figures was really striking but I missed out on those, so getting this Glyan-- complete with that swell, Atari-esque shoulder tampo-- was an irresistible purchase. I got his "reverse" figure too, because, well, I'm not made of stone.

Callgrim WARP Bike Vehicle Breakdown, Art, More

Be sure to check out concept art, in-progress assembly and prototyping (and creators), and a breakdown of parts of the new WARP Bike coming shortly from RawShark Studios. It is awesome. Made of 3 pieces of plastic and 19,931 paint applications, this vehicle is an impressive beast.

Review: Glyos Relgost Wing Division Glyan Action Figure

I can't always tell you exactly why I'm crazy about a figure, particularly when it's a repaint of something I had-- I got a Glyan early, and totally dug it. But the Relgost Wing Division Glyan Action Figure is some sort of crazy awesome, with a pink visor/helmet, an alternate head with a green humanoid face and a blue helmet, and a gun, it's just neat. I mean, if this doesn't look like it jumped right off some awesomely painted Japanese robot model kit boxtop illustration, I don't know what does... that makes sense, right? Like Zelve or something? (If you know what Zelve kits are without Google, bully for you.)
