Skeleton Warriors Returns, with Pumpkin Spice Flavor

http://octobertoys.com/pumpkin-spice-titan-skeleton/
October Toys is celebrating Halloween, Pumpkin Spice, and the Undead with the really cool Skeleton Warriors Pumpkin Spice Titan Skeleton.  It goes on sale noon on the 13th for $13.

It's big!  It's pretty great as a toy - I don't have one in this color yet, but the glow and bone ones are superb.

Skeleton Warriors Kickstarter: Kickstarter Next Week?

http://octobertoys.com/grimskull-update/
The toymaking lovely people at October Toys posted a swell Grimskull Update. The Kickstarter for this Glyos-compatible figure goes up the first week of September, and based on what was previewed at Comic-Con it's looking good.

It's also the 20th anniversary of the brand. If you remember reading about it in Tomart's Action Figure Digest too, that means that you are old and that this is the mummy's curse.

So be sure to save some money, don't blow it all on Force Friday.

Review: October Toys Skeleton Warriors Glow-in-the-Dark Titan Skeleton Action Figure

October Toys Skeleton Warriors Glow-in-the-Dark Titan Skeleton Action FigureI'm a sucker for glow-in-the-dark toys. When I saw the Kickstarter for Skeleton Warriors included a Glow-in-the-Dark Titan Skeleton, I needed to buy this 5-inch super-articulated figure. Usually I snag the Kickstarter-exclusive versions - which in this case was clear blue - but I went for glow and bone and am glad I did!

Review: October Toys Skeleton Warriors Baron Dark Action Figure

October Toys Skeleton Warriors Baron Dark Action FigureI was very much aware of Baron Dark and his cohorts from the 1990s Skeleton Warriors line, in part because it was during that glorious period where Playmates and other toymakers tried to make something for kids that also would be of a higher quality for older collectors. It worked for Star Trek, so it made sense to try it elsewhere. Well, it didn't work, but October Toys licensed the brand as a collector run again - 1:18 scale Glyos figures - and you know what? It worked nicely. We haven't seen a second character yet, but the first one is good.

Review: October Toys Skeleton Warriors Bone Titan Skeleton Action Figure

October Toys Skeleton Warriors Bone Titan Skeleton Action FigureI'm a fan of October Toys. They host the Glyos forum, and put good stuff out - it's one of the few companies where I feel a strong need to try anything they make because, generally speaking, it's good, cheap, and the outfit is run by nice people. I was totally OK waiting a few extra months for the Bone Titan Skeleton, a 5-inch super-articulated figure created, I assume, to share tooling with Baron Dark in order to get a little more bang for the tooling buck. I did the Kickstarter to get the Baron, this Skeleton, the glow version, and a Skeleden - and that seemed like enough. I now regret skipping the clear blue one, because the Titan Skeleton mold is quite good and because these were intended to be scaled to 3 3/4-inch figures, it's the perfect nemesis to the Jakks Pacific Link figure from the Zelda games as well as other fantasy lines in this scale. Which I am now blanking on, I'm sure there must be another one - but hey, it's a good fake Stalfos.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Skeleden Standard Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Skeleden Standard Action FigureIn a rare instance of a figure showing up in an Onell Design game months before the toy release, the Skeleden Standard figure was a delightful surprise. We knew at least one version was coming as part of the Skeleton Warriors Kickstarter line - one with purple elements, it turns out - but last month Onell dropped two and a half flavors of this new mold. A wonderful blue version was joined by a clear armor kit you can use to upgrade your existing figures for five bucks... I ended up getting them all, because I can. The standard one is, far and away, my favorite.

Skeleden Assembly Revealed

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/georgegaspar/skeleton-warriors-glyos-compatible-action-figures/posts/1140229In an update  Traveler Skeleden full sculpt reveal the Gaspars give us a look at how this new figure comes together.  Interestingly, the classic Pheyden torso, hands, and feet are augmented with new armor, a new head, and new limbs.

The release missed the original ship date a bit but things are looking sharp.  Hopefully we'll see them very soon, as they seem to be coming together swimmingly.

Over on Kickstarter, October Toys added two more figures you can add-on to your pledge for Skeleton Warriors.  New Exclusive Figure Add-Ons of Baron Dark ($25) and the Titan Skeleton ($13) are up for grabs.  These roughly match existing Cosmic Wave Exellis from a while back.

A $93 pledge nets you all 6 figures, while the previous "one of each" level was $55 for 4 figures.  The Crystal Blue versions are exclusive to kickstarter, and you've got less than 3 days to up your pledge - the Kickstarter drive ends Monday!

October Toys Reviving Skeleton Warriors on Kickstarter

One of the more loved but ultimately underrated toy lines of the 1990s - and home of the legendary, unproduced Bone Dragon - is getting a new shot at life with October Toys!  Skeleton Warriors on Kickstarter is off to a good start, nearly 25% of the way with 20 days to go.   Baron Dark, a Skeletoney Pheyden named Skeledon, and two bare Skeletons are up for grabs first - plus this seems to be the first-ever mass-produced line of Glyos toys on Kickstarter.   The best package - one of each of the non-stretch goal figures - is $55.
