The Four Horsemen Bring Pheyden, Phanost to their Legions

https://store-horsemen.myshopify.com/cdn/shop/files/combo_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1748889882

Over at Store Horsemen, pay-in-full pre-orders are up for the 2026 Infinite Legions Pheyden and Phanost figures.  They're $85 for the set, or $45 each - also there are pins.

I haven't bought many of their newer figures, but I'm told it's basically the greatest thing going for indie figures in terms of customization and the fan community.   I bought a bunch of figures from their earlier lines like Seventh Kingdom and Gothitropolis, and they're really impressive.

These Glyos characters are about 7-inches tall and each has multiple alternate heads, hands, and accessories.  A hologram part has a Glyos peg to pop on a communicator, or use as a head with your standard Glyos figure.

Pre-orders are live through June 22.

Review: Onell Design Traveler Stowaway Light Blue 2023 Pheyden Action Figure

Onell Design Traveler Stowaway Light Blue 2023 Pheyden Action FigureWhat can you say about the nameless (but I'm calling it) Traveler Stowaway Light Blue 2023 Pheyden that hasn't been said about other figures? It's colored just like Pheyden Prime and matches the Light Blue 2023 parts and pieces, with no paint other than the eyes. There's a subtle pink ring in each eye, which makes this figure a distant colorway cousin of Queen Kirallius [FOTD #2,186] from 2020.

Review: Onell Design Traveler Gearius Granthan Drifter

Onell Design Traveler Gearius Granthan Drifter Action FigureA somewhat familiar face! The Traveler Gearius Granthan Drifter figure is at least the fourth iteration of Gearius, but he's also a bit like Gears Edge Pheyden [FOTD #8] from the very first wave of Onell Design figures. It's a good, realistic look with a brown body and an orange head. And a blue head. Also two brown heads. And a couple of capes, a scarf, and an alternate torso. It's a pity Onell Design never put together arm and feet expansion sets, because you almost get two whole figures in a little baggie.

Glyos Onell Design July 9 2023 Drop Menu

Is it a new drop? Yes it is.  The Onell Design store has been updated with wave 96, celebrating 16 years of Onell Design action figures.  While it may not sound like much, how many toys last three years?  Let alone five or ten?  That's a big deal.

There are a lot of highlights - I had to pounce on the Gauss Armor Relgost Fugitive and Traveler Gearius Granthan Drifter.  They were too cool. The Armorvor Granthan Drifter Kugarrec looks pretty sharp, too.  It looks like the Sincroborg Gray Renegade brings back panel lines - those are a rare find, indeed.

Just go to Onell.store and order something - there's a lot good there.  And here's the menu, people of the future, for your pricing reference.  The drop also was delayed by a few minutes, a rare blip in an otherwise smooth experience.

Review: Onell Design Pheyden Ignelleun

Onell Design Pheyden Ignelleun Action FigureIs anyone reading this week? I have no idea. But I'm a little bit ashamed that I still have a lot of Glyos I haven't played with yet, and I just opened Pheyden Ignelleun last month. It's a good figure! You probably know all about the 2 3/4-inch figure Pheyden and the Glyos construction, but do you know about this particular color? Probably. I want to be sure people can find this in the future so I'm writing about him.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Pheyden Bio Phantom Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Pheyden Bio Phantom Action FigureClear white? Why not! Pheyden Bio Phantom is a color of plastic we don't see in toys very much. We've had milky blue Game Boy Advance systems and all sorts of clear colorless plastic, but other than Ahsoka's white lightsabers I have a hard time pointing to other action figures using this unique color. Pheyaos, Glyans, and Manglord figures were also released in these colors - plus some appropriate accessories.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Versirran Pheyden Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Versirran Pheyden Action FigureThe Onell Design output is an amazing thing to watch, where you get hundreds - probably thousands now - of great little figures. So many, in fact, I can't get to them in a timely manner despite even having shot many pictures when I got them a long time ago. One such figure is the blue Versirran Pheyden, a lovely metallic swirly figure I've had sitting on the front of one of my Glyos shelves since I got it in 2012. The July 29, 2012 Drop Menu was just crazy with dozens of figures available (including a few old ones) at prices that are pretty amazing. It was in the drop that debuted the Venjorun Armorvor, which was a really exciting day.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Glyarmor Andromeda Action Figure

Onell Design Glyos Glyarmor Andromeda Action FigureThe Glyarmor Andromeda is a nice set - and I hope it's presented here as complete, because while I took photos of the baggie of parts, the numbers don't add up. The set should be 25 parts with 5 heads according to the Glyos Wiki and Onell Design's old menu. The bagged photo I have shows only 3 heads, and when I count the Spectre Pheyden MK. II base body with the armor, and the aforementioned 3 heads, I get 25 parts. Sometimes there are "stowaway" parts in a second bag, but given that I didn't shoot those with these, and what I present here are 25 parts, I am unsure if there's a typo somewhere. Maybe I goofed. If you know, write in, I'll update here and dig out the right pieces.

Onell Design Glyos Skeleden Hallowden King

Onell Design Glyos Skeleden Hallowden King Action FigureIs it the Pumpkin King? Sort of! The Halloween-themed Skeleden Hallowden King gives you a basic orange Pheyden with lots and lots of Pumpkin Spice armor. It has black painted bits and bright yellow eyes, plus your choice of two different heads. And alternate armor. Plus swappable limbs... but not hands or feet. You've got a lot of options here.

Onell Design Wave 81 Arriving

Since Wave 81 arrived here at the Dump HQ on Friday, I decided to do something I should've been doing for a long time - group shots!  Here's what we got from the Onell Design Store.  The green Pheyos Rothan is still in stock, and Colossus Rex Tyraxsis just sold out as I was making this post late Friday night.   The brown Bigfoot-like Traveler Simiod Clone has sold out, but I'm sure someone will sell you one for like six million dollars.  The orange unpainted Crayboth was a free stowaway in my order - did anyone out there get any other freebie figures like other colors of Crayboth or perhaps rogue Outer Space Men accessories?

Review: Onell Design Glyos Vlixden - Available Tonight at 9:30 PM EDT

Onell Design Glyos Vlixden Action FigureI can't believe this exists, either. I'm very excited as I type this.
To celebrate 2,000 Figure of the Day reviews, I asked the Onell Design chief if there might be something we can preview here early back in the spring - he did me one better and asked if I might like to collaborate on something, asking if there was anything I might like to see referenced in Glyos. I had a list of ideas going but I assumed if you're going to celebrate 2,000 reviews here and another 2,500 or so on Galactic Hunter, you probably want to go with the most-referenced holy grail/white whale - so this is what I suggested for it. Vlixden references Vlix, a figure truly deserving the title "rare" which I found out existed around 1989 and have been chasing ever since. I was very young then and I assumed by now I'd have one. I was wrong. The price can get comparable to a car.

Review: Bit Figs Mega Bit Spectre Pheyden

Bit Figs Mega Bit Spectre Pheyden Action Figure SetEver since the line was introduced, I was looking forward to the Bit Figs Mega Bit Spectre Pheyden Set. I wasn't sure if it would be painted or not, so seeing them do both versions was a nice surprise. Naturally, I bought both - it's a big pixel figure with soft, glowing plastic. It's also a small figure with glowing plastic. It's two figures! The little one is the same size as the Bit Figs you'll find in vending machines (and should buy), while the bigger one is about the same size as a regular Pheyden figure - about 2 3/4-inches tall.

Review: Bit Figs Matryx Pheyden

Bit Figs Matryx Pheyden Action FigureBoy howdy am I glad I got a Bit Figs Matryx Pheyden. This is the kind of thing you know and love if you're just the right age - the Onell Design stalwart has been made in the colors of the original 1989 GameBoy, which has been recolored many times, in many formats. It's a good fit - and it has an insane multi-color tampo on the chest that shows just how fancy these figures can be at a reasonable price. It's basically the same old Pheyden with new deco. This is good enough for me.

ICYMI: Matryx Pheyden at Culture Pirates Shop

I missed it due to being on a plane, but an awesome, amazing, I wish I got it Matryx Pheyden went up and sold out for $11 on Thursday night.

But fret not totally - the Culture Pirates Shop has some glow-in-the-dark Bit Figs and other goodies.

...dang I wish I was home to get that Pheyden.

Review: Onell Design Glyos Pheyden Frontier MKII

Onell Design Glyos Pheyden Frontier MKII Action FigureThe hero with many faces gets another face with Pheyden Frontier MKII. It's a pretty simple figure with extra deco - it's a Pheyden molded in white with thick paint on the legs, hands, and arms to replicate the molded plastic of the original figure that sold out ages ago. He doesn't have spare heads or anything, but it's a nice one nonetheless. It looks cool, which is a reason to buy it - the Onell Design crew came up with tons of great colorways back when they started, so it's nice to see them brought back for the newcomers or those who lacked the foresight to pick it up 8 years ago.

Review: Bit Figs Mega Bit Pheyden Standard Set

Bit Figs Mega Bit Pheyden Standard Set Mini FigureI already bought one version of this mold, but a painted colorway of Mega Bit Pheyden - a Standard Set - seemed to be an essential purchase. (I'm also interested in a green "bad graphics" one and/or glow-in-the-dark someday.) Pheyden in Pheyden colors is an important thing to have, and this blocky one is nothing if not charming. If you got the Mega Bit Pheyden Trophy Set [FOTD #1,531] the figures offer little new other than changes in color, but they're good changes in color. In addition to these figures, an unpainted blue duo was also put up for sale.

Review: Bit Figs Mega Bit Pheyden Trophy Set

Bit Figs Mega Bit Pheyden Trophy Set Mini FigureWhen I saw the first Bit Figs showing up on social media, I thought "Those are neat, but I'm sticking to this whole 'don't buy made-on-demand' kick." I already live in sort of a black hole of toy purchases. When I saw a plastic made-in-a-factory Mega Bit Pheyden Trophy Set was on sale - $10 for 2 figures, no less - I pounced. I love weird pixel things, and I love Glyos, so it's a good mix. (So far I've skipped Minecraft because boy howdy those things are pricey.) With a 2 3/4-inch and a 1-inch figure, made of 4 total chunks of plastic, I figured I should give these a whirl.

Crossposted from my Tumblr.

Reviews start next week - but these are new @bitfigs from Culture Pirates, SSM Vending, Onell Design, and presumably someone else.  I don’t know who.

The idea is that they’re (mostly) vending machine figures, so keep an eye open for these in other colors.  The top row shows animals, the bottom row shows ninjas.  Each one has a hole in the feet which is the size of a Glyos peg - good for staffs, alternate heads.  Each figure is about 1-inch tall and is unarticulated.
On the left are two (so far) online exclusive Bit Figs.  The big one is a large Pheyden with articulated arms that are removable and swappable with other @glyos pieces.  The little one is a little one.   Interestingly, the animals and ninjas are marked “GLYOS BIT FIGS″ - the only Glyos-family figures so far that I can recall that have any sort of markings - but Pheyden doesn’t.  He’s just this guy, you know?

Also confusing, today in Japan they announced Transformers Bit Figs and they’re something else entirely.

So far, I’ve counted (but have not personally seen and do not yet own) 62 different tiny Bit Figs from a grand total of 11 molds, plus the big one.  I’m contemplating a checklist thing.  I’ll be sorry if I do this, I just know it.

The only “wild” bit figs in vending machines have been 75 cents so far.   The Culture Pirates ones are roughly a buck a pop when bought in a bag.  I’ve already posted this review if Ninjas Ku in all 10 (known) vending colors if you’d like to see more.

If you want vehicles to go with them, so far Hot Wheels has a Minecraft Mine Cart.  (Review also coming at you next week.)   I’ve seen - I swear I’m not kidding - 10 different package variants of it so far.  Target is getting cases of solid Mine Carts with different artwork - but it’s the same cart, so far as I can tell.  A basic blue-carded cart also exists, with at least 2 different bubble variants.  (One slides back and forth, one does not.)  Because I’m not insane, I just bought one, and it’s a dollar, and it’ll fit most Bit Figs in addition to the smaller Mattel Minecraft figures.   If you’ve ever had the urge to send Pheyden or bunnies through Hot Wheels loops, now’s your chance.

A late update - most of them also fit nicely in the Tankinator car.
