I had the Neo Granthan Nemica Enforcer for over 10 years, and didn't write the review or shoot the figures until recently. It's a good figure, riffing on classic trooper figures from science fiction and of course, Battle Beasts. The bulky armored 2 3/4-inch figure is incredibly wide, making use of the traditional helmeted Armorvor head as well as the then-newish Neo Granthan head. It looks a little like a dinosaur.
I
was going through my archives and it seems the last time this mold was
released was 2017! I've still got a few of these to review - this Spectre Armorvor MK II has been sitting bagged on my desk for quite some time. I was
planning on doing another "Glow in the Dark Week" but that's unlikely -
so it seemed now was the right time to open this one. 
As any line goes on, you can be forgiven for saying "Hey, have I seen this before?" The Neo Granthan Reptoriun
is brown with green, similar to the copper with green Neo Granthan
Sendollest Hunter a while ago. That one had richer colors and different
paint masks, too - this new one looks sort of like an orc or an ogre
from a fantasy series. I quite like it - especially the new deco on the
Armorvor head.
With
monthly drops and all sorts of gorgeous figures, it's easy to get lost
in the output of Onell Design and the related Glyos family. We're now
seeing over 100 figures per year, which puts this family above even Star Wars in terms of sheer variety. The nifty Neo Granthan Rocker is made of 29 pieces, all of which come from existing toys specially (and heavily) painted to look like Rocksteady of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
fame. He might look like a familiar face - the color scheme and head
deco recall a popular character from a comic book, TV show, movie, video
game, and so on. But who? Obviously it's not Rocksteady - it's just
an armored dinosaur figure with paint that makes you think vaguely of
the rhino mutant from the classic cartoon series. By now you've no
doubt seen a few reviews of the Neo Granthan figures and the Armorvors
from which they were born, so know that this is a plussed up version of
those sturdy, nifty figures.
Refugees from the past! Standing about 3-inches tall, a Neo Granthan Skaterriun Mimic
is named for Matt Doughty's elusive "Skate Wars" concept that he
whipped up in the 7th grade. The sci-fi military figures looked pretty
cool, and the Sketerriun figures are a nod to it. As usual, the nifty
new color schemes got applied to many of the figures in the Onell
Design catalog including the lovely Armorvor/Neo Granthan buck. It's
good.
I shot this one a couple of years ago, but I forgot to tell you how much I dug the Neo Granthan Gladiator.
The silver mold was one of three figures released when the
dinosaur-like "Neo Granthan" head made its debut just over two years
ago. Prior to that, the Armorvor molds came with wolf heads. I
really dug the wolf head, the Neo Granthan is nice, but I've always
wished we would see more animal noggins on a regular basis. Such things
are not easily supported by artisanal batch action figures. There
have been quite a few Neo Granthans since the debut, but not exactly an
abundance of silver ones.
I
need another one of these guys like I need a hole in the head, which is
a feature many Glyos figures actually include. The blue Armorvor Cosmic Wave is a lot like the other Armorvor figures, but its clear blue and white deco looks more like Outer Space Men
Galactic Holiday Phase figures. To a non-Glyos fan, it just looks
like a holographic figure. It's neat, I like it, I bought it. [ READ THE FULL REVIEW ]
Think pink with the clear glittery Armorvor Neo Nonilla.
Colored like a rabid Lisa Frank binder, this nifty figure brings you
the Neo Granthan head with the classic wolf helmet and a backpack. And
glitter. So much glitter.
If you need so much green that your green needs green, you're probably going to love the metallic Armorvor Keytrius.
The tropical birdlike deco sports metallic green plastic, yellow
visors, red eyes, and a few decent highlights - it's worth noting the
swirls probably could have rendered the green paint unnecessary.
While
shelf space and being realistic about dollars spent made me have to cut
back from being all-in on the Granthans, I couldn't resist this Neo Granthan Gatorrior Mercenary.
I loved getting the various wolves, and now that the gator-like alien
is being done in Gruesome Gator colors? How can I possibly say no?
