Review: Rawshark Studios Warp Bike Firespray

Rawshark Studios Warp Bike Firespray VehicleThe Glyos toy lines have a few - very few - vehicles, and some of them are pretty amazing. I couldn't say no to the Warp Bike Firespray, especially after missing the glow one and some other colors. A new vehicle? For Glyos? In Kenner Boba Fett colors? How could I not pick this up? It's three chunks of vinyl, some of which (not the big front end) were later used by Onell Design for their vehicles. According to my research (checking a Wiki) this was the third and final release of the mold. I hope they do more some day.

Review: RawShark Studios The Order Bobaran Action Figure

The Order Bobaran Action FigureMade of aa couple of dozen parts, this figure is amazing if for no reason other than its color matching skills. The Order Bobaran's inspiration is baked in the colors, which RawShark Studios kingpin Jesse Moore somehow painstakingly matched or maybe he just blackmailed someone to get the Pantones perfect. It's based on the original mail-away (and retail) Kenner Boba Fett Star Wars action figures, a true classic and one of those things that's both an artifact of great mythological significance while oddly being a staple of millions of children's toy boxes almost 40 years ago. As an inspirational force behind Callgrim, it only makes sense that the character would be adapted to these original needs.

Callgrim Drop Friday - Gray Galaxy, Test Type Jumbo Vinyl

http://onelldesign.blogspot.com/2013/11/mercenary-alert.html
It's been almost a year, but RawShark Studios will have another Callgrim Drop on Friday!  The Gray Galaxy edition of the character is similar to a matching Dark Traveler a few weeks ago, and it will be joined by a Test Type of the jumbo, massive vinyl Callgrim we've seen earlier.

The whole deal goes down at 9:00 PM Eastern on Friday, so be there or don't!

New Callgrim - Dark, Smoke, Glittery at NYCC

Standing in the shadows of his much larger new brother, a smaller smoke Callgrim appears to be at the NYCC booth.  (I think.  It's tough to tell.)

The last new release of Callgrim PVC figures was in January 2013, so this is more than a little significant.  I am unsure if other new colors were hown.

NYCC: Giant Callgrim En Route?

Gentle Giant gave us jumbo Kenner Star Wars figures, so why shouldn't RawShark Studios give us a Jumbo Callgrim?  At NYCC, the great Vangelus (Chris Ho) snapped a picture with himself next to this giant, seemingly Shogun Warrior-sized version of Callgrim.

As of yet I've been unable to find any information about pricing, availability, if this is just a prototype, or what, so I'm just going to go ahead and post a link to his picture on Twitter for now until I know more.

It's BIG.  So I'm assuming that if this comes to pass, it's going to be $100-$150 easy.  Update: Vangelus tells us that if he recalls correctly, this figure was $250, which looks about right.

Looking at pictures on Plastic and Plush and ToysREvil, it looks like this one is about 12-inches tall, give or take.   Compared to a Syclodoc in a picture, and Jesse Moore's forearm in another, this seems about right.

Callgrim Drop Menu: January 11, 2013

I have good news and bad news.  The Callgrim drop last night had 5 new items, and the good news is 4 are still available.  The new Warp Bike sold out rather quickly, and it seems it was a very, very low run.  Before you do anything else, click here to see what the Callgrim Shop still has in stock.

Click here to see the menu.

New releases of ol' skullface are still in stock!  The versions pull plastic colors from other recent releases, such as the silver Banimon figure and last year's hugely successful Onell Design Hades drop.  As I write this there are still a few of the excellent Fragrarian figures left in stock as well, so you might want to go place an order while you can.

Callgrim Incoming: Friday Drop!

Friday! 9:00 Eastern!  There's a Callgrim drop.  Exact releases and prices are unknown, but so far we've seen exactly 2 new unreleased pictures (Dark Voss and gold Urballim, above.)

Based on the teaser art by the top-notch and first-rate Jesse Moore, it appears they will be similar to last month's Council of Travelers from Onell Design.  Metallic blue or silver with blue reflections has been teased, and it's unknown if the Christmas art is just art or a sign of toys to come tomorrow.

Some of the new art also showcases what seem to be Banimon/Callgrim hybrids.

Who else is excited?

Coming Soon! Dark Voss Callgrim

While not officially named yet, the graphic was labeled the Dark Voss Callgrim!  Note the tampo on his shoulder.  It's pretty cool.  No word on a release date or price yet, but you can click through to the Callgrim Blog to see the article which has, well, almost less information than you just read here.

Review: Callgrim Fragarian Action Figure

It's sort of funny to see that the driving force of bringing attention to 1980s girl toy brands to adult collectors is dudes selling to dudes. (See: She-Ra, some of My Little Pony.) Callgrim Fragarian is a fancy redeco of Callgrim colored and scented to resemble the original Kenner Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Really! The figure carries a hefty price tag because of the added deco, plastic colors, and scent, but... c'mon. And you get a trading card! The only way this figure could be any cooler was if the pale red/pink segments were that glow-in-the-dark "Solaris" plastic.

Callgrim Incoming: Strawgrim DX Callgrim Fragarian Drops on Friday

It's been a while, but with good cause.  Something smells awesome!  A new Callgrim figure (we don't know the name, so let's go with Strawgrim it's DX Callgrim Fragrian) is coming Friday, November 2, at 9 PM Eastern.  This reportedly scented action figure is the first-ever Glyos release to include, according to our source, (thank you Jesse!) vintage Kenner Strawberry Shortcake odors.  That's pretty amazing and arguably one of the only ways to make this line even more awesome.  What next, ooze?  Nicely done, Jesse!

Read all about it on the Callgrim Blog.
And read this updated post too.

NYCC 2012 Glyos Happenings: The Schedule, The Booths

There's going to be a whole mess of people at the Onell Design (and friends) booth at New York Comic Con!  They rotate the occupants every few hours, so you people there for the whole show will see an insane amount of fantastic, wonderful plastic things.  Other booths have things for you Glyos fans, too!

Here are your known destinations for Glyos at the show:

#556: Action Figure Xpress: Outer Space Men
#3321: Ni Stuff: Ni's Stuff
#3216: Onell Design (Shared): Dang near everything
#3303: Toy Tokyo: Outer Space Men

I will not be able to attend, so if you're there please take pictures and send me links to your blog entries, or send me your pics to post.  I'd love to see what we're all missing!

The full, long breakdown at booth #3216 (Onell, Callgrim, TGB, etc.) is after the break. (Clicky clicky, it's the same thing from Onell Design because I copied it and pasted it here as I am a lazy thief.)   Be sure to stop by, The Godbeast always has something awesome to surprise you.  Bring cash.  You'll thank me after you spend all of it.

Custom: Callgrim Painted as Boba Fett

bobagrim4Late at night over the weekend I was asking myself "Gee, has anyone done a Boba Fett-deco Callgrim?" and sure enough, the answer was yes.  The great Monsterforge posted a gallery on Flickr of his creation and dang if it doesn't look fantastic.  The backpack, rangefinder, and gun are all excellent added touches, too!

Review: Callgrim Callgrim The Order Triton Action Figure

If you don't have any of these yet, Callgrim The Order Triton is worth a look-- heck, they all are pretty good, and the one mold has so many configurations and colors that I'd say it's worth grabbing a couple if you're already on board with the Cult of Glyos. There's a story which plays out on the Callgrim web pages, but if someone just hands you a figure all you have to go from is a nifty toy with a trading card. The rest is pretty much up to you.

New toys!  The Callgrim Shop has Deluxe Real Type Hexxer ($40, 38 parts), a massive-looking Deluxe Real Type Wraith ($200, 16-piece vinyl figure), and a pair of T-Shirts ($15 a whack) that you need to see.  Trust me.  See what's still there!
