It's kind of funny, but it's possible that Cosmic Radiation Jack Asteroid
sat unreviewed in my house for close to five years - I picked up a lot
of these guys to open and enjoy, but also to review, and the reviews
frequently take precedence. Who needs to be written and shot quickly?
That's who gets opened - so I just grabbed Jack since he's been one of many glow or white OSM who needed to finally be opened up.
I picked up a few different versions of this figure but initially skipped the Raider (GID Blue).
Obviously, I went back and got it when an opportunity came up - and
for $5 under a painted figure price, it's pretty decent. A low-run 3
3/4-inch figure with almost no paint may not sound appealing, but if
you've been following you know it's cool because an ex-Kenner sculptor
worked on it, and because it's a Glyos system figure. That means the
glow is good - it can glow for hours when charged by the Sun. For
those keeping track, blue glow charges slowly but glows for hours. Red
charges quickly, but burns out quickly. And green is in the middle.
Cappy Space has a new drop! The Brynelords are available now... until they aren't. These are brilliant - sea creature heads and tentacles let you make the squid of your dreams. There are fish heads. Check them out!
I don't know what it is specifically, but the comments say "3 figures, existing sculpts." So I'd assume nifty gifty versions of Trooper, Assassin, and Raider - if you don't already have them in another colorway, mark your calendars and bookmark the Healey Made Shop.
I missed a few! But you can order Onell Design Wave 99 right now. Glow-in-the-dark, black, silver, and green plastic figures are up for grabs while supplies last, so check the store. A glow-in-the-dark Gauss Armor plus nifty new configurations of the Buildman and others should make this an exciting drop... if you got to it in time.
As I write this the Phanost Core Clone hasn't been posted, so you'll have to let me know how it turns out.
Figures expected include a new flavor of Hades (pictured), Kaisyriax, and some sort of Buildman-adjacent fellow of whom you can see in silhouette on their post.
While not limited to 1138 pieces, the Trooper (THX)
hit during Comic-Con in San Diego and was a highlight... of things not
at the show. When this figure first appeared, you could pick out a lot
of Stormtrooper elements so it seemed a given that it would be sold as a
white Stormtrooper some day. And I was close - this is a black plastic
figure with a nice layer of non-glossy white paint on it. I was
expecting a white plastic figure with black painted bodysuit elements.
Who knew?
As one of the second year prototypes from the 1960s, most people didn't get any flavor of the figure that would become Bluestar Gamma-X
until about 10 years ago. He's neat! Peak midcentury design with
nifty b-movie antennae, clamp-on armor, and a couple of blasters make
for a notable figure. You can get him in green,
a painted version, or a white version - but the blue one is pretty
spectacular. The blue back armor is glow plastic with a painted blue
interior! It's striking, to say the least.
